This was cute。 I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where the main character was a witch。 Didn’t love the fact that it was young adult but I finished it so I must have liked it， at least a little bit。

I had NO idea what this book was about before reading it。 I had seen its cover flying around Instagram， and I ended up getting it for Christmas。 I really enjoyed it。 It might have been a little too lengthy， hence my rating of only 4 stars。 But it was very entertaining and I’d like to read the sequel。

I think overall the book is done well。 The characters are fleshed out well and the story is solid。 Kinda wish the story had a quicker pace， a lot of times it felt slow and some parts seemed forced。

Asesino de brujas #1 : La bruja blanca es la edición en español del libro Serpent and Dove， lanzado por PUCK de la autora Shelby Mahurin。Este libro narra la aventura de Lou （no mencionaré todo el nombre para no hacer Spoiler）， una bruja de las Dames Blanches y Reid Diggory， un Chasseur （cazador de brujas）， que entre los devenires de la vida terminan en un matrimonio arreglado para que ambos salven su cuello y su vida。La trama es interesante， al comienzo de la lectura una puede perderse o termina Asesino de brujas #1 : La bruja blanca es la edición en español del libro Serpent and Dove， lanzado por PUCK de la autora Shelby Mahurin。Este libro narra la aventura de Lou （no mencionaré todo el nombre para no hacer Spoiler）， una bruja de las Dames Blanches y Reid Diggory， un Chasseur （cazador de brujas）， que entre los devenires de la vida terminan en un matrimonio arreglado para que ambos salven su cuello y su vida。La trama es interesante， al comienzo de la lectura una puede perderse o terminar no gustándole por el vuelco instantáneo en la historia dejándote la sensación de "¿Qué demonios？"， pero una vez vaya avanzando la trama a lo largo del primer capítulo， que es más introductorio a la trama， cerca del final de este es donde comienza lo bueno。 Lo que recomendaría es leer todo el primer capítulo que no es largo y con eso sabrás si el libro es para vos。Siendo un libro de fantasía juvenil está muy bien， siendo en mi punto no atractivo los personajes en el primer capítulo y tomando fuerza ya al final de este。La falta de construcción de mundo es notable， que es lo que más eché en falta， no describe casi los entornos y la historia del mundo， convirtiéndose en una lectura ligera y para nada pesada。 El tema de la magia está buena， haciendo referencia al equilibrio y los hijos que lo manejan， aunque la magia de las Dames rouges está un poco muy fuera de control。Verdaderamente me atrapó， y disfrute de la evolución de los personajes así como la historia， lo recomiendo， aunque echando él falta el mundo en que se rodea。 。。。more

WOW！ This was so good！ I definitely wasn’t expecting to read those 500 pages in one weekend。。。I LOOVE Reid and Lou and their romance。 I actually really enjoyed the different point of view （and to my surprise enjoyed more Reid’s ones）。 Lou is the kind of female protagonist I ADORE。 Stand for herself， strong， sarcastic。。。 she is a very funny character to read。 // though there were a moment in the book that was VERY problematic where I felt bothered : it’s when Lou insinuated to have sex with a 16 WOW！ This was so good！ I definitely wasn’t expecting to read those 500 pages in one weekend。。。I LOOVE Reid and Lou and their romance。 I actually really enjoyed the different point of view （and to my surprise enjoyed more Reid’s ones）。 Lou is the kind of female protagonist I ADORE。 Stand for herself， strong， sarcastic。。。 she is a very funny character to read。 // though there were a moment in the book that was VERY problematic where I felt bothered : it’s when Lou insinuated to have sex with a 16 year-old？？ She was joking but it wasn’t funny to me and it definitely wasn’t necessary！Reid is something！ He’s sweet， caring， very kind and just really an angel。 Only problem is that he kills witches。。。 but overall he’s an amazing character I loved and really enjoyed。 （He’s DEFINITELY a book boyfriend of mine）。Their relationship reminds me a lot of Matthias and Nina in Six of Crows！！ So if you liked them you’ll love Reid and Lou。 The side characters are amazing too！ Coco is an amazing friend， ready to “exsanguinate” the man if he hurt Lou and Ansel is truly a sweetheart。About the plot。。。 it’s quite weak but I didn’t mind actually。 I was here mostly for the romance。。。 Though there were some plot twists that got me surprised！I liked the world， the magic， the settings。。。 and reading this book was very pleasant。 It made me happy and laugh and simply feel （overall when a book makes you feel， it’s good！）。 [As a french person it was very weird to see that many french words in an English book but it was quite funny （especially when they curse in french）]。I would recommend 100%！！ The romance （and some scenes） are really worth it！！ You’ll get attached to the characters for sure and to the world！ Plus， the book is very pretty， it’s probably the prettiest on my shelves！ Can’t wait to receive Blood & Honey in three days and have some answer to that particular plot twist at the very end。。。Here are some quotes I retained because they made me laugh or because I just love them （❗️possible spoilers❗️）:“My little heathen” p265“My stomach dropped to somewhere below my ankle” p284“I won’t touch you until you ask” p305“Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from you。 Where you go， I will go。 Where you stay， I will stay。” p338“If she was destined to burn in Hell， I would burn with her” p398“Why the fuck is everyone in this kingdom trying to murder my wife” p502 。。。more

Me gusto el libro como para una tarde de esas que necesitas un libro de fantasía que sea ligero， no puede conectar con los personajes， me gustaron si， pero estoy segura que si me hubieran encantado terminaría la trilogía y ahora mismo no se si continuarla， si quiero saber que pasará después con todo el lío que se montó al final pero no es mi prioridad porque como termino este libro podría vivir con el final。

Tengo muy poco que decir al respecto， había leído y escuchado reviews buenas alusivas al libro y a los protas， y eso es algo que en cap。 1 descendió por completo。 Desde un inicio no conecte con los personajes， la trama se queda un poco floja， pudo haber tenido más acción， magia， cobertura en la historia y romance。Los personajes， siento que me ocultaron cosas， que no se mostraron como realmente son。mmm， estaba esperando a que me desvelará。
